Attitude is funded by New Zealand On Air. It screens 40 weeks a year on TV One and is an upbeat television magazine series designed to reflect the lifestyle, issues and interests of people either living with a disability or caring for a person with a disability.

Each week we present a mix of stories. These stories include profiles of individuals living with a disability, information about new techniques or technology, sports stories, and the thoughts and views of people all over the world living with a disability. We also aim to advocate on behalf of the disabled community, to ensure issues are aired and addressed and to uphold the spirit of both the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights for People with Disabilities and the New Zealand Disability Strategy.

Our goals: to inspire people living with a disability to get out and live life to the fullest, to provide strong role models for our young people, and to inspire change.

Our presenters and the production team know that not everyone has the same capabilities. We know life can be tough. But we want to show how great life can be, with or without a disability.

We want to show all our viewers that people with disabilities:

  • Are movers and shakers.
  • Are elite athletes.
  • Are entrepreneurs.
  • Have a social conscience.
  • Have a political voice.
  • Make a vital contribution to society.
  • Love, laugh and lead amazing lives.

The creation of role models for young disabled New Zealanders is vital to our goal. We want to build a strong sense of community, a community that disabled men and women can be proud to be part of.

Attitude is everything.
