The Smell of Strawberries

18 Aug 2008

"The Smell of Strawberries" -- a play by experienced playwright, Lynn John.  Based on the lives of three colourful women, this play is described as a "delightful recreation of lives well lived".  The title refers to one of several smells that people with Alzheimers can no longer enjoy.  Two of the characters have Alzheimers and despite this somewhat sobering context, the play is funny, witty and incorporates music and songs from the 40s and 50s.

A workshop of the play is taking place on Sunday 24th August at the Opera Factory in Newmarket, Auckland, at 1 and 4pm.
This viewing is to showcase the play and springboard it to the next stage which is a two-week season of the production in 2009.
Tickets are $50 with all profits going to Alzheimers Auckland Incorporated.
Champagne and refreshments provided.
