Presenters

Curtis Palmer, Tanya Black, Dan Buckingham, Kristy Munro and Grant Sharman are the programme's reporters.

All five reporters began their television career with Attitude. They have become strong role models for the disabled community and are also now acknowledged as positive, valued representatives of the sector wherever they travel. Our reporters both research and report on stories.Their role in the series ensures we uphold the disability sector's cry "nothing about us without us".

I'm not sure I know any 15 year old rugby league players who don't think that they are unbreakable. I played hard as a youngster and my peers were right there with me. It's astonishing what we used to put our bodies through when we were young.

In December 2005 I was rushing home from work, tripped on the top step and lost the use of my legs. It was a simple accident. The months since then have been a large learning curve and epic journey, with plenty of the road yet to travel.

I’ve always led a full life, and breaking my neck in a game of rugby wasn't going to slow me down. I have gone on to complete my degree, travel the world, and become a Paralympic Gold Medalist. My latest challenge: living in Auckland and working full time for Attitude…. It’s a far cry from my rural roots in Southland!

In 1977 aged 15, I broke my neck playing rugby. After three months at Middlemore Hospital I was transferred to the newly opened Spinal Unit with the distinction of being it's first patient with the registration number SPU-233-0001!
