Disability doesn’t fit in the fashion world. This industry strives for ‘perfection,’ you don’t see crutches, wheel chairs and un-conventional body shapes in a world of air brushed beauties. Society is fed these images and the result is an unrealistic and unattainable definition of beauty. Is it any wonder that many women lack self-esteem?

I love music – especially the thrill of a live performance. Whilst living in London I managed to see many great bands, often going to see a couple of gigs a month. I was always up the front to get an unobstructed view of my favourite artists and I never stopped to think about how access to the venues and enjoyment of the show would be compromised for those in a wheelchair or other disability.
